Halo is one of several works made in collaboration with Simon Biggs. In it floating figures are attracted to visitors and circle above them 'singing'. As visitors approach the screen, the figures descend to ground level and move about, muttering to themselves. If the visitor stands still, the figures may approach them and start 'talking' to them. The talking, muttering and singing are created by randomly accessing databases of vowels and consonants, cut up from recordings of people reading from The Proverbs of Hell by William Blake and treated in various ways. See space-dis-place for a discussion of this piece, and Simon Biggs' website http://www.littlepig.org.uk/ for more images.
